Idaho Guide Service has been leading whitewater raft trips on the Salmon River for over forty years. We can offer a variety of options to fit you vacation schedule. Our one day trips take place in Riggins, Idaho. This run offers class III/IV rapids that will keep you entertained all day. Double your fun and add beach camping to your trip with our overnight excursion. This canyon trip offers class III/IV rapids with stunning white beaches perfect for a game of beach bocce. If you are looking for a full rafting/camping adventure, the Lower Salmon Gorge four and five day trips will fulfill your summer vacation rafting dreams. This exciting class III/IV whitewater section offers plenty of time to fish, hike, swim, or just relax. The trip ends in Hells Canyon on the Snake River. Raft out to Heller Bar or jet boat to Pittsburg Landing.
Four and Five Day Trips
Four Day
All of the great features as the five day trip but instead of rowing out on the Snake River a Jet boat picks us up at the confluence and take us out at Pittsburg landing. This trip gives you the opportunity to raft down the Salmon River and powerboat up the Snake River. The canyon scenery is gorgeous.

Five Day
Our first class river trip. We provide transportation from our meeting place in Riggins, Idaho to the launch point in Whitebird, Idaho. Idaho Guide Service provides all equipment necessary for the trip. Meals and beverages are made fresh each day. A dry bag and box is provided to each guest for keeping your personal item safe.

Meals: All of our extended trips start with lunch on the first day and end with lunch on the last day. Idaho Guide Service has always served the finest family meals on the river: Delicious grilled meats, fresh vegetables and fruits, and dutch oven desserts .
Trip Size: On all of our extended trips we keep our group size less than 20 people, including guides. If you desire a special trip just for your family or group, please contact us with your plans.

One and Two Day Trips
The Salmon River, also known as the “River of No Return” is the longest free-flowing river in the country. Our journey is highlighted by fun class III/IV rapids and a beautiful riverside camp at the bottom of a breathtaking 5,000-ft. canyon. We offer one and two day trips.
One Day Trip
Spend a spectacular day on the Salmon River running class III/IV rapids. Our crew will meet you at Spring Bar at 10:00 am. After a whitewater safety talk and some local history it is time to start the fun. You will be running rapids such as Time Zone, Tight Squeeze, and Lighting Creek. There is plenty of time to swim or relax in between rapids. Lunch is served on a beautiful beach. Our vans will pick you up at New Lucille and take you back to your vehicle.

Two Day Trip
The Salmon River, also known as the “River of No Return”‘ is the longest free-flowing river in the country. Our journey is highlighted by fun Class III and Class IV rapids and a beautiful riverside camp at the bottom of a breathtaking 5,000-ft. canyon.
We meet at city park in Riggins, Idaho, at 9:00 am MST. After loading your gear, we will drive up river to Vinegar Creek.While the crew rigs the rafts a guide will give a thorough safety orientation and local history of the area.
On both days we will run an abundance of class III rapids with the excitement of class IV rapids mixed in. We cover approximately 20 miles each day and arrive at camp around 4:00 pm. The entire camp is set up by the guides, which means your only job is to enjoy the surroundings. You can swim, play bocce ball, hike, fish, or just relax in camp. In the evening dinner is grilled and cooked in the dutch ovens, all complete with a homemade dessert.
Our morning, begins with breakfast at 8:30 am then back to the river around 10:00 am. The second day is even more exciting than the first, with our challenging rapids including Ruby Rapids, Lake Creek, Tight Squeeze, and Black Rock.
Those of you who are wanting an extra thrill can paddle our inflatable kayaks.
We arrive back at Riggins between around 5:00 pm, where your vehicles await you.

Discounts for Youth and Seniors
Kids 6-16 go 10% off on all Salmon River trips when accompanied by an adult.
Seniors (age 65) and Veterans receive a 10% discount.
