Day Trips in The Snake River. Twin Falls Idaho Snake River Canyon

Snake River Trips by Raft, Canoe, Kayak, and Motor Boat

Rafting the Hagerman Section of the Snake River in Southern Idaho.

Idaho Guide Service, Inc. has been running whitewater adventure trips since 1974, and were the first licensed outfitter on the Middle Snake River. Our experience, reputation, and quality are unmatched. We promise you a FUN, EXCITING, and PROFESSIONALLY RUN adventure on any of our 4 different whitewater trips on the Snake River.

Whitewater Day Trips On The Middle Snake River

#1The Hagerman Section of the Snake River is located approximately 25 miles downstream from Twin Falls. This is a CLASS 3 trip with plenty of whitewater action and beautiful scenery. This stretch of the Snake is known for its great fishing and plentiful natural springs that flow into the river from the Snake River Aquifer.

$50 - $70 per person (approximately 10 miles)

  • $50 Minimum price per person for 4 adults - No food service
  • $70 Regular retail price per person - Includes #1 Lunch
  • Children's and Senior's Discounts Still Apply

#2 the Murtaugh Section, 20 miles upstream from town and 2 miles below the Cauldron Linn (Star Falls), is know as one of the premiere day trips in the country. When the water flows in the spring it is a stong CLASS 4 +/5- section of river. With 16 major rapids in 14 miles, the Snake drops an impressive 25 ft. per mile in this deep Basalt canyon. Waterfowl and birds of prey abound as does significant archeological sites of Native people and more recently Chinese, whose mining sites are numerous in this part of the Snake.

Minimum age for this trip is 16. Previous whitewater experience or a go-for-it attitude is required.

Trip meets at Twin Falls Park on the Snake River daily at 9:30am.

"Whitewater of the highest degree and caliber", "Awesome!", "Has to be seen to be believed", "Compares to the Grand Canyon only better"- All of these and more have been used to describe this 14 mile section of the Snake River known as "The Murtaugh". Idaho Guide Service pioneered trips down this section of the river in 1982, and were the first outfitting company in the country to be licensed and permitted to conduct commercial float trips on "The Murtaugh". This is a one day float trip that compares to none other in the country for big water. Sixteen major rapids block our course on our decent downstream to the Twin Falls (at over 100 feet high) on the Snake River.
