Welcome to the deep river canyons and majestic mountains of Idaho. Idaho Guide Service invites you to experience the unique beauty, rich history, and thrilling whitewater of the Snake and Salmon Rivers. As a family-owned business with over 45 years of outfitting experience, we specialize in creating personalized adventures for both small and large groups, always delivered with exceptional service and attention to detail.

We take great care in how we use and manage Idaho’s rivers. All of our expeditions follow environmentally responsible practices, and our appreciation for these waterways is matched only by the respect we show them.

As a family-operated company, we understand that any river trip is only as good as the guides who lead it. While boats, equipment, and food are important, we believe the heart of every great adventure lies in the attitude, experience, and philosophy of our guides.

All Idaho Guide Service guides are licensed and bonded with the State of Idaho and complete extensive safety and first aid training. Each has hundreds — and often thousands — of miles of rowing experience. We are proud that our guides live and work in Idaho, and they love sharing their knowledge of the rivers, landscapes, and history of the areas we explore. We encourage our guests to ask questions and engage, ensuring every trip is both educational and enjoyable.

Idaho Guide Service is committed to preserving Idaho’s natural beauty in its purest form. While we provide top-quality food, equipment, and service, our true focus is the experience itself — bonding with the river’s rapids and calm stretches, discovering stunning geological formations, spotting wildlife, and sharing the journey with new friends. Every trip is built on three essential elements: companionship, place, and the movement of the river beneath us.

Idaho Guide Service, Inc. is owned and operated by the Gardner Family. We are a licensed, bonded, and insured outfitting company with over 45 years of experience delivering safe, fun, and unforgettable adventures for guests of all ages and abilities. Our outstanding crew of licensed professional guides brings unique skills and personalities to every trip. From one-hour excursions to five-day adventures, every journey offers first-class service that’s both fun and informative.

Meet Our Guides

John Reiber

Hi my name is John! I am from Melba, Idaho. I work as an RN at St Als in the ICU. I love being outside and going for any adventure. Hobbies I enjoy going out and doing include snowboarding, rafting, hunting, fishing, and rock climbing.

Kaishon Hamann

Kaishon is an Idaho native, originally being raised in the Wood River Valley. Exploring the Sawtooth Wilderness as a child spawned an initial love for Idaho’s rugged forests and mountains, and discovering White Water Rafting has only deepened that love. This will be his 4th season with IGS. Kaishon has rafted the Hagerman section of the Snake River hundreds of times, and has experience with parts of the Rogue River, as well as the Main and Lower Salmon River sections. He is always improving his knowledge and abilities as an Outdoorsman, and is excited for the 2026 season.

Quinn Fillmore

Quinn has been a guide for Idaho Guide Service since 2015 and is one of our lead boatmen. He has ran innumerable trips down the Hagerman section of the Snake and Riggins section of the Salmon, as well as a handful of runs down the mighty Murtaugh! Additionally, he has ran several multi day trips, including the Lower Salmon, Hells Canyon, and the Owyhee, as well as countless day sections, such as the Lochsa, Middle Fork Payette, South Fork Boise, and many more. Aside from rafting, Quinn enjoys playing music, traveling, fishing, camping, and being outdoors in general. Be sure to ask him about any birds or fish you see on your trip with him.

Uriah Manning

Uriah Manning is thrilled to be joining IGS for his 9th season on the river. Originally from Hartly, Delaware, Uriah grew up loving the outdoors. After moving to Twin Falls in 2006, he quickly fell for Idaho’s rugged beauty, especially the kind that involves rushing water and sunburned shoulders. What began as cherished rafting trips to Riggins with the Gardner family grew into a deep love for Idaho’s river culture… The kind built on sunshine, splashy rapids, shared laughter, and stories told around campfires. Guiding allows Uriah to combine his love of adventure with his heart for people, helping guests experience not just the thrill of the river, but its beauty and peace as well. Uriah is very grateful to the Gardner family and the IGS team for the opportunity to spend his summers navigating whitewater, telling dad jokes, and sharing the wild wonder and stunning scenery of Idaho’s rivers with guests who travel from near and far to experience it. He lives in Twin Falls with his hot wife Sarah and their three darling girls, Georgiana, Lottie, and Penelope… future river enthusiasts currently in training!

Over the forty-five years of growing and learning with IGS, my biggest take is how the river can change lives. Being able to assist our guests to find their perfect trip and make sure their needs are met.has been my goal.

Now with two grandbabies, I now look forward to stepping back from much of the office work. I am ready to get back on the river with the kiddos and watch their joy grow.

Olin Marc Gardner

Knowledge of all the river trips and being able to assist in all aspects of the business is a big undertaking. Olin Marc is that person, always having a welcoming smile and willing to help when and where needed. Though not guiding any longer, Olin still enjoys taking the cataraft out for an adventure on the Snake River when family and friends come to visit.

Matt Gooch

Growing up in scouting and Klondike expeditions sparked my lifelong drive for the outdoors. I studied Outdoor Recreation and Leadership at the University of Idaho and built my life around rivers and wilderness guiding. I’m passionate about sharing wild places with others—revealing not just the thrill of whitewater, but the raw beauty and power of the natural world that sustains us.
